Upper Eyelid Fat Removal: ROOF Fat Removal

There is a surgery known as #UpperEyelidFatRemoval. Specifically, it is a method called #ROOFFatRemoval.

ROOF is an acronym for Retro-orbicularis oculi fat.

This corresponds to the ‘R’ section shown in the diagram above.

This is the fat located behind the orbicularis oculi muscle, separate from the orbital fat that is commonly removed.

Since this area is not easily accessible for fat removal, it must be handled with extreme care. Improper technique can lead to complications such as hematoma (blood pooling) or the formation of triple eyelids.

While a #thick appearance can sometimes be due to the skin itself, significant improvement is possible if the ROOF fat is properly excised.
