Under-Eye Fat Repositioning: Improving Bulging and Dark Circles
A professional guide to transconjunctival under-eye fat repositioning using the EZ-Tcon method to treat bulging and dark circles without external scars.

Under-Eye Fat Repositioning Surgery: Improving Under-Eye Bulging and Dark Circles
It has been a while since my last post. Today, I would like to summarize a presentation I previously gave at an academic conference.

This content is based on my presentation at the May 2022 Training Course for Plastic Surgery Specialists in Private Practice.
The title above translates to ‘Transconjunctival Lower Blepharoplasty’ in Korean.
‘Transconjunctival’ means approaching through the conjunctiva. In other words, the surgery is performed through the inside of the eyelid.

The surgery targets these types of defined boundaries and bulging areas.

The procedure is performed through the conjunctiva on the inner side of the eye.

While performing surgery through the conjunctiva, I prefer to use the needle shown above for the repositioning process.
For reference, I am a ‘Key Doctor’ for the surgical technique using this specific thread.
The thread used is called EZ-Tcon.

The surgical method is as follows. To show you a simple schematic, it involves using the thread to fix the ends of the fat tissue to the area below.
I will provide a more detailed explanation during your consultation at the clinic.

Thank you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the lower eyelid fat repositioning surgery performed?
Yes, it is performed through the conjunctiva inside the eye. This is medically referred to as transconjunctival lower blepharoplasty, and since the surgery involves incising the conjunctiva inside the eye rather than the outer skin, it can effectively improve under-eye bags and dark circles.
How is the fat fixed during surgery?
It is performed by fixing the end of the fat tissue underneath using a needle and thread. The author of this text explains that they prefer a method of firmly repositioning under-eye fat by pulling it down using a special thread called EZ-Tcon.
Are you an expert in EZ-Tcon thread surgery?
Yes, the author is a Key Doctor for surgeries using this thread. As a Key Doctor, they have presented at academic conferences and training courses based on their deep understanding and clinical experience with lower eyelid fat repositioning surgery using EZ-Tcon thread.
How can I get a more detailed explanation about the surgery?
You can get a detailed explanation by visiting the hospital in person. The blog post only briefly introduces the basic surgical diagram and principles, so it is best to confirm the exact surgical method and process suitable for your individual eye condition through a face-to-face consultation.
