How to Minimize Pain During Under-Eye Fat Repositioning?
Insights from a 2022 lecture on transconjunctival blepharoplasty techniques to reduce pain, prevent recurrence, and ensure safe results.

Under-Eye Fat Repositioning Lecture: May 22, 2022, Training Course for the Korean Association of Plastic Surgeons

The presentation topic was as follows.
It refers to lower blepharoplasty through the conjunctiva. In other words, the fat repositioning method.
In the past, many cases involved simply removing the fat, and some practitioners still perform it that way today.

The term ‘tear trough deformity’ refers to the hollow area under the eyes, which corresponds to a specific ligament-like structure in that region.
Because that part holds the tissue in place, the fat sits over it, creating a bulging appearance.

This is a view from the presentation. If you look at the photo in the slide above, there is a ligament holding something in the area where the fat bulges. Please refer to the arrow.

The surgical method involves spreading the fat evenly and repositioning it like this.

Then, as shown in the diagram above, the bulging part disappears.

This is how the final result is achieved.

There is a core secret to this surgery.
There are techniques to prevent recurrence. I shared tips regarding this during the lecture.
I also passed on tips for reducing pain and minimizing complications.
It is my hope that everyone can perform these surgeries safely and effectively.
