Removing Double Eyelids: Surgery to Create a Monolid Look

Recently, there has been an increase in people wanting to remove their double eyelids—specifically, those who wish to create a ‘monolid’ look.

I am writing this post to address those requests.

While there is a method to physically remove an existing double eyelid, it is generally not recommended because it leaves significant, visible scarring.

This is because the procedure results in prominent scars like the one shown here.

In practice, the procedure involves tucking the existing line inward so that it is no longer visible.

Once the swelling subsides, the double eyelid crease will be hidden inside like this.
