Inauguration as Academic Chair of the Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery Study Group, Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (Dec 2021 – Dec 2023)

As of December 2021, I have taken on the significant responsibility of serving as the Academic Chair of the Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery Study Group under the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (KSPRS).

Over the next two years, I plan to invest a great deal of time into the study group to further its development.

With the addition of various administrative duties, it looks like I will be becoming much busier.

I am writing this post to solidify my resolve and ensure I do not start with a bang only to end with a whimper. I want to look back on this later to make sure I haven’t lost my original sense of purpose.

Thank you to the director who sent these. I have applied a mosaic effect to protect privacy.

Goals for the 2-year term:

• 1. Elevating the overall academic standards of ophthalmic plastic surgery among Korean plastic surgeons.
• 2. Providing ‘trial & error’ education to prevent excessive or unreasonable surgical procedures.
• 3. Sharing a wide range of clinical experiences.
• 4. Pioneering unexplored territories within plastic surgery.
• 5. Organizing and archiving the history and achievements of the Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery Study Group to date.
• 6. Advancing the understanding of lesser-known anatomical structures through cadaver dissections.
• 7. Encouraging the publication of academic journals and research papers.

I will work diligently to repay the support you have shown me.
