This is the patient before surgery. When opening the eyes, the lines appear thick and have a slight ‘sausage’ look.

Immediately after surgery, they naturally look even more like ‘sausage’ eyelids due to swelling.

However, the swelling subsides quickly.

Swelling still remains, but keep in mind that this is only one week after the surgery.

3 months post-surgery.

The scars are expected to continue improving over time.

The formal medical name for the ‘double-line incision’ surgery is ‘Thick Double Eyelid Lowering with Preservation of Existing Scars’.

While the name is long, it is commonly referred to as ‘double-line incision’ (du-jul-tta-gi), though this is not an official medical term.

It is called this because a second line is created to ‘pick away’ or release the adhesions of the original single line.

To show the scars on the other eye: the larger arrow above points to the old scar (the original double eyelid line).

The smaller arrow on the right points to the newly created scar (the new double eyelid line).

Since it is only the 3-month mark, the scars are still visible, but they will gradually fade!
