Natural Adhesion Suture Removal: Reversing Natural Adhesion Double Eyelids
Learn about reversing natural adhesion (non-incisional) double eyelid surgery by removing sutures through existing micro-holes without new incisions.

Natural Adhesion Suture Removal: Reversing Natural Adhesion
In this post, we will discuss reversing natural adhesion double eyelid surgery.
There are cases where patients who have undergone natural adhesion (non-incisional double eyelid surgery) are dissatisfied with the line or wish to return to their original eye shape.
While incisional surgery usually requires another incisional procedure to make changes, those who had the non-incisional or natural adhesion method can often return to their original state simply by removing the buried sutures.

This patient originally had double eyelids but opted for a higher line. However, since the result was not what they desired, they wanted to return to their original appearance.

When the eyes are closed, the small puncture marks from the previous surgery are visible.
At our clinic, we do not make new incisions to remove the buried sutures. Instead, we remove them through the existing holes.
While it is much easier to remove sutures by making an incision, most patients choose the non-incisional method specifically to avoid cutting the skin. Making an incision just to remove the threads would defeat that purpose. If an incision were necessary, one might as well have opted for incisional double eyelid surgery from the start.

Removing sutures through tiny holes requires significant expertise and technical skill. It is not easy to extract the threads without causing tissue damage.
The sutures were removed using one hole on one side and two holes on the other.
There is almost no swelling, and the eyelid line appears lower immediately after the procedure compared to before the removal.
