Incision Double Eyelid Surgery Demonstration by Director Choi Dong-il of Gangnam Seoyeon Plastic Surgery

In the fall of 2013, I performed a live surgery demonstration on incision double eyelid surgery at the 1st ABF (Asian Blepharoplasty Forum) hosted by the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.

This is a session where I demonstrate my surgical techniques in front of fellow plastic surgery specialists and engage in discussions. Since there were over 1,000 attendees(?), it was my first live surgery, and I was incredibly nervous—100 times more than usual.

To my far left is the mock patient, immediately to my left is the surgical assistant nurse, and then there is me with an awkward smile...

As a side story, this was during the early days of my academic presentations five years ago... Director Shin, who was the chairperson and a senior from my school whom I deeply respect, noticed I was very nervous and helped create a positive atmosphere. ^^

In truth, live surgeries are not only nerve-wracking but also prone to many variables.
I would like to thank the officials of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons for their trust.
It has already been five years (as of the writing date, September 1, 2018). I believe this experience served as the foundation for my subsequent academic activities.
