For elderly patients, we tend not to overcorrect ptosis. Making the eyes too large can make them appear wide-eyed or create an unnatural impression, so the focus is on natural improvement.
What happens to the aegyo-sal (under-eye fat rolls) after lower blepharoplasty?
For those who originally had aegyo-sal, we perform the surgery carefully to preserve the nerves so that it can reappear after the procedure. However, for those who did not have aegyo-sal before the surgery, it will not be newly created just by having the surgery.
When are the stitches removed after surgery?
Typically, stitches are removed between 5 to 10 days after surgery. Even if upper and lower blepharoplasty are performed together, the stitches are removed within the same period, followed by the recovery process.
